Comments:

The notes appearing on the "G" line are either a low floor tom with a lot of effects or a Simmons pad (as sumsum suggests). Snare drum appears on the "C" space and the other lines and spaces indicate tom toms and bass drum. As with any transcription this is an imperfect visual representation of an auditory experience. There are a few figures played in this solo intro (particularly the 5/4 measure) that can't really be notated 100% accurately.

Also my sound card is pretty crappy so I might be off on the tom tom pitches.  I am sure that when I notated a tom tom he is playing a tom tom. I just might not be accurate as to whether it is a high, med or low tom tom.

Disclaimer: This was transcriped from a clip posted at the Evans forum. Since I listened to the clip out of context of the tune there may be a few errors--most notably, the entire transcription may be displaced by a beat or two. I don't have a recording of the entire song so I am not sure if the very last note of this clip (cymbal and snare drum crash) occur on beat one or elsewhere in the measure. In the context of everything that comes before, it seems like the last note falls on the downbeat but I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually another part of the measure thus indicating that the entire transcription is displaced.
